You're right. Next time you're at a wedding you should go around telling people you hope the bride and groom make it. Maybe even write that in the card to the bride and groom too.

My MIL is a petulant child. My young children act more mature, responsible, considerate and warm than MIL does.

Nothing MIL does surprises me, but I wouldn't mind making a contests of what she will do next.

My MIL said something similar to me the day after the wedding. The worst part was that she said it so matter of fact, as if it wasn't offensive.

Weddings can really suck for the immediate family of the groom. It depends on the bride and her family but it can be absolutely horrible.

MIL just doesn't generally acknowledge my presence. For example, it was my first Mother's Day this year and I didn't hear from her. Thought that was a little inconsiderate.
