| I think the "CMI is the greatest" poster was just trying to stir something up, too. |
| Why do people do that? |
| To keep a post going, for entertainment...who knows, but it happens all the time on here. |
| But, but... isn't it just like going to private school, only free? |
No. It's a public charter school that takes everyone who is lucky in the lottery. That fact alone makes it very different from private schools.
|
| High turnover in charters is well known. The system was deliberately set up to create this dynamic in the name of competition and union busting. Don't go charter if you don't want high turnover. |
DCPS parent here: staff turnover isn't exactly low in the traditional school system either. Teaching is a really hard job and lots of folks who go into it burn out. The grass is not greener.... |
I've heard this statement made by multiple CMI parents. They *really* want it to be true
|
12:17 again: In my experience, they seem to honest to goodness believe that it is true. |
Go private. I'm sure the many people below you will thank you. |
Agree with this, CMI is definitely the best for our child. Teachers leave, parents leave, it's DC....people move all the time. I trust in Golnar's vision for the school which has been excellent since the day we walked in 3 years ago. |
| Teachers leave schools ALL THE TIME. I have a DC at Beauvoir and they have at least ten teachers leaving this year. Some for unknown sketchy reasons. All part of the process. |
Hmm. My kid is at assign awesome new charter and I thought it was a pretty good indication of the success of the first year of the school that there is zero turned into the second year. |
|
An not assign.
Turnover not tuned into. School has 100 percent retention of current staff. |
Get back to us in year 2 |
