This timeline seems crazy to me - we need to make a decision two days after the parent tour and before the child gets to tour. Is that right?


Last year, the open house was for kids and parents. You go together, then at some point, the kids will be taken by the current 5th grade HGC kids for their own Q/A while the parents have their's. From what I remember, you have one week to decide after this.


I think the snow days may have affected the timeline. The parent only presentation is 3/31, we have to decide by 4/2 and then the kids and parents tour in April.

Another parent who received a rejection letter today. Wondering how others plan to share the news with the kids. We haven't focused much attention on this at all, but we did talk about what the testing was for back when it happened. And he was really excited about the possibility, so I anticipate he will be disappointed. Just struggling with finding the right messaging.

Kids are really resilient. If he's disappointed by the news (and he may have forgotten all about it), he'll likely be over it by dinner time.

However, if some of his close friends got in, that might be a little tougher. But he'll get over that, too.

We didn't get anything today. Applied to Chevy Chase. Very interested to know if anyone heard anything today with respect to this center!
