Different poster here, the one who provided links to a few handbooks.
Are you serious, PP? "How could a 14yo suffer discrimination at school?" If that's a serious question from you, then it's obviously been a while since you've been in school with other teens!

wait, your applying for 9th grade right ? And your child is sexually active? In 8th grade ; aren't they just 14 years old?

One doesn't need to be actively engaged in sex in order to have a sexual orientation. I knew mine before becoming sexually active and I suspect most others do as well.

So, this is about you then OP, not your 14 year old ? I'm curious, how could your 14 year old possibly be discriminated against from the 8:30 Am - 3:30 pm while taking math, english, history and science , eating lunch and taking gym .

I'm the OP, not any of the people you quoted. I don't have a 14 year-old, I have a 3 year-old, and my question doesn't involve her. It's about the published non-discrimination and anti-bullying policies of different schools, and it has been answered. Thanks for your concern.

OP, why are you asking this in this forum and at this juncture? Surely, the best opportunity to find out just how non-discriminatory a school is is during the parent interview and/or tour or in a follow up conversation with the AD. Also, most schools post a prospective LGTB parent recruitment night . Why would you not have asked waaaay before now.

Please read my original post. It's just a question that came up when reading a parent handbook. I thought people here might know, and it was kindly answered by a couple of people on this thread. Case closed.
