YES. All of the above! |
Not really relevant, but my grandparents were teachers and they owned a little concession stand on a lake in the midwest. My dad said he and his siblings would spend all summer at the lake, hanging out with the "rich" kids who lived there, waterskiing and fishing, while their parents sold ice cream & hamburgers.

| Before I had children I taught summer school. Now I stay home with them so they do not have to go to camp all summer. Camp is expensive. They attend a few camps because they are fun and I have to work a little at my school. Full-summer school positions are rare since most summer classes are taken online now. |
| I know a few teachers who work as special ed aids in summer camps. There are several SN camps in the area who could use an extra pair of eyes. |
Except for ESY |
| My DIL used to teach high school summer school. 8 am to noon 4 days a week for 2 months. $100 per day. She used the money to buy a new school year wardrobe. |
| For the first 10 years I worked on my MS and Phd. Now I travel and relax. |

I go to Oak Bluffs with my children and return to DC for PD classes.
When I was growing up I spent summers with both sets of grandparents. My mom took one vacation with her educator friends and one with my dad. |
