Question: would you double your hours for double your pay?

This is a great thread and lots of good advice has already been shared here.

OP, I am sure you know this, but keep in mind that hours 40 to 80 won't feel like the first half. Hours 40 to 80 are progressively more grueling and become really hellish. I do think it's extremely difficult to do this without a spouse who does not work. I currently work 60 hours a week for 300k, and I am about tapped out. My spouse has never wanted to stay at home and I can't really ask that, so I am going to cut back rather than push ahead in my career.

So true. There's some kind of 2^x pain function to hours worked.... So very true.
