Sounds like the OP was looking for schools in a certain geographic area given the schools listed. Commonwealth would be far in rush hour.

Could be. Just trying to be helpful. Commonwealth Academy has kids as far north as Gaithersburg and as far west as Leesburg and as far south as Mt. Vernon. There's a map with pushpins directly across from reception to help parents organize carpool.

Love WES. LOVE it - so glad we found it and enrolled.

But I do think it's a school more suited to girls and boys with very high executive function and self control. We happen to have one of those kinds of boys. He's had an amazing education in a warm, caring community of teachers, parents, and kids.

No to Norwood. The teachers have trouble understanding kids without disabilities. Just throw them a garden variety ADD and they freak out.

This doesn't match what we see at Norwood - I feel like there are more than "a few" ADD students in our child's grade and I have yet to see any evidence the school "freak out" about it. Furthermore, the children have remained though all of lower school - so their families can't be that unhappy?

+1. Our DS's 4th grade home room teacher was fantastic in working with us and him.
