Unmonitored cycle with leftover IVF meds?

I mean, you know what will happen. You'll get pregnant with an embryo with genetic issues and either miscarry, have an abortion or carry to term then spend a life time caring for the child.

This is an old thread. Update, OP??

How do you monitored your own blood work?

Your results are available the next day (in mid-morning) in your online personal account. In my prior IVF cycles I kept meticulous records of bloodwork results, so I knew what's normal for me in terms of a stimulated cycle for various protocols and dosages of meds. I am a data nerd. Also spent massive amounts of time reading research on Pubmed (on IVF in general, not just for the unmonitored cycles).

Im doing the same! Too much money down the drain , Ive got a pharma connect that has givin me access to discounted IVF medication gonal -f clomid and ovidrel . my next cycle I will be monitoring myself and doing it natural with times intercourse . I have a highschool friend who is a Dr at a well known clinic who just gave birth to ferternal twins 8 rounds 2 losses and a dozen surgeries and she finally took home 2 babies can you imagine overall what it cost her . she gave me some advice as far as administering that intercourse than triggering is best . the response is different when sperm is already waiting for egg vs trigger than do IUI after . Best course of action is to have intercourse than trigger and then timed intercourse two days after. For all the KARENS and LINDAS that will attack me for this . Id rather not pay Dr thousands when I can get access to the medication for 300-500 verses 1500 for one drug and get just as good info on how to monitor myself than paying a Dr. thousands to turn up with zero babies .. lets remember what's good for the goose isn't good for the gander. what I think is best for me may not be what you agree with or what you think is best for you and your husband . But Im confident that this will work for my family . I'm hoping for multiples so with the information i was given Im sure things will work out for me. Im truly thinking of starting a group for women who want access to the medication for women who don't have insurance or wont pay for the meds no matter if they are being monitored or not i think the med pricing is outrageous .

If your being monitored by a doctor or going rouge and doing it yourself good luck to you either way and baby dust to all .

When I was at Shady Grove, they were terrible about monitoring my cycles. I was also overweight and an extreme "low responder." I did not have PCOS and was very clearly not in danger of OHSS.

For my final cycle there, I had leftover meds from a previous cycle.

After a few bad days of stimulation that were not monitored by my assigned MD, Widra, who was on vacation, another doctor stepped in and told me I should cancel. I said I would wait.

Meanwhile I boosted the stim dose greatly using the leftover meds. I was flying blind there due to desperation.

Then I gave myself two doses of the trigger shot of HCG, after reading studies suggesting should be dosed based on weight. Later more studies were published that confirmed this.

I was relieved that it was the first cycle with no immature eggs. I became pregnant & delivered a healthy baby.

Any suggestions for dose of gonal f and trigger hcg? I’m 82kg, no pcos, age 43, DOR due to age.

Really? You're asking a complete internet stranger, someone who is not the least bit qualified to make educated decisions about your medication dosage how much medication you should self-administer? I struggled with severe infertility, so I understand the desperation, but really?

How do I get a pharma contact that offers discounted IVF meds???

I'm a doctor who is still in residency training and these medications are extremely expensive, especially when you're still paying off $500K of loans

if you know the MD, then ask her.

IDK anything but i'll suggest: put the gonal in soapy water for an hour and then drink it instead of injecting it
