Bottled Frappuccino separated and gone bad - anyone else experienced it?

Anonymous
My 82-year-old mother is the most recent victim of the spoiled Starbucks Mocha Frappuccinos. My mom has been drinking the Mocha Frappuccino bottled beverage since the mid-90s when I introduced her to them (yes, they've been around that long lol). She drinks one EVERY morning and now orders them from Walmart by the case. Last month one of the cases came with one bottle broken which has never happened and today she started to drink from one of the bottles and it was BAD. She said it was the worst thing she's ever tasted and it had almost a "vinegar kind of taste." The bottle was sealed tight and she even had trouble opening it so it wasn't a broken seal issue and the expiration isn't for 3 more months (other bottles in the case have been just fine). I wondered if others had the same experience and found this forum. We're in AZ.

Buy the La Colombe canned cold brew lattes at Costco instead (the best tasting one - Triple Shot- has 4 grams of added sugar vs. 34 grams (!) in a bottled Coffee Frappuccino plus way more caffeine and lactose free milk.

This is the way!

2023 here and this is still happening. Mine expired 2 months before the expiration date….had no idea this was a thing until I found this post. Can’t believe more people aren’t talking about this 🤷‍♀️

Purchased Costco “Starbucks” mocha frappe with expiration date June 26,2023. It’s May and is extremely separated huge chunks disgusting and the safety seal was on before opening

This doesn't surprise me.

I've developed a highly sensitive nose (a gift left over from pregnancy) and EVERY time I open one of those (maybe once a month,) it smells faintly like spoiled milk. No one else seems to be able to smell it, but it turns me off from a drink I should like, in theory.

Yes, I always wondered who would buy a whole case of these. I’m not a coffee drinker, but I see the appeal of iced coffee. A Frappuccino seems like a tricked out, American Humvee version of that.

I thought I saw a recall notice for some Starbucks product a couple of months ago, you might try googling.

It is early June 2023 and I just opened a spoiled drink from my Costco case of mocha Frappuccinos. It shouldn’t expire until the end of August. This is the first time it has happened to me. Several others in the case have been fine. It was smooth and odorless, but had a sharp, unpleasant, almost tart taste.

Just got 2 cases at Sam's and halfway through the first bottle I got chunks. It tasted fine, but looks like curdled milk. Both cases look like that.Taking them back. Expiration date is August 19, 2024.

Frappucino thread strikes again. Start posting the batch numbers on your thread and we can put together a chart for Starbucks. Will probably target one warehouse where everyone is on meth and leaving pallets out in the sun. Dateline will get involved and Jeff will win a prize.

We regularly purchase the
Starbucks Frappuccino from Sam's for my teenager to drink in the morning. He complained that there are floaties and that it tastes awful. He refuses to drink them. I thought he was picky and gave them to his brother. He also says they are disgusting. Usually they love these. Now they won't drink them anymore.
These were purchased in either January or February 2024.

Having the same issue here. I don't know what is going on, but maybe this will finally be the catalyst to make me stop drinking these things. They are tasting funny, or the chocolate is curdling, or the dairy part isn't incorporating the way it is supposed to. My expiration dates have been anywhere from April 2024, May 2024, to Sept. 2024. Whatever is going on, I do not like drinking anything with chunks, floaties, or that is bitter. If Starbucks doesn't get their stuff together, I'm done.

Glad I'm not the only one. I never had it when I buy the 4-packs, but I bought a 12-pack the other day and all have started to separate with an expire date of Sept, 2024. I's just the end of March now... Expensive and turning nasty.
