Bottled Frappuccino separated and gone bad - anyone else experienced it?

Anonymous
We regularly buy bottled Starbucks Frappuccinos at Costco. In each of the last two cases I bought, there has been at least one bottle in which the ingredients have separated. - and it's nowhere near the expiration date. The first time it happened, I just shook it up really well, opened it and took a drink. It was awful! I figured it was a fluke so I just dumped it instead of returning it. Tonight, I went to get a bottle, noticed it had happened again and so I tried googling many variations of 'bottled frappuccino gone bad'. The only hits I got were about whether it was okay to drink after the expiration date. Either I'm the only one this has ever happened to or Starbucks has buried any news on it. Has this happened to anyone else.

Consider this a sign to stop drinking that gross stuff.

This hasn't happened to me, but I noticed that the bottled Frappuccinos from Costco do not taste as good.

We had that happen before. Totally unexpected and gross.

OP here - I can't stop all my vices at once. I gave up Diet Coke already. Frappuccino is lower on the list.

I've had it happen. It's a milk based product and while it's shelf stable, it doesn't last forever. It looks like when milk goes bad -- kind of separates/white stuff floating within. I've never drank it after it looks that way, but I imagine it'll taste like spoiled milk?

I also buy Frapp at Costco, and have had several unexpired bottles separate. Each one was found to be spoiled, upon opening.
After the 2nd occurance, I wrote to Starbucks advising them of the problem and the packaging codes.
Several weeks later I received at letter apologizing for any inconvenience, but offering no explanation. Coupons for two bottles were enclosed.
I found another separated bottle this morning, but have not opened it. J.W.L. Delray Beach, FL

I tried to find experiences of spoiled frappuccinos on Google but couldn't find anything either until I seen this post. I bought a case of frapps from Sam's club. I took a drink of one this morning and it tasted horrible. As if it's spoiled or something. It don't look separated though. I buy these all of the time and this is the first time I've had this happen. I really hope it doesn't make me sick. It's Thanksgiving and I have a lot of turkey to eat.

I have a funny story about a bottled frappucino, a sock and a port-a-potty. If my DW is on right now, she can confirm.

I bought a case from sam's club and noticed about 5 of them were separated like this.i thought maybe it had something to do with them being freezing cold to warm and back again. i left them in my car for a few days in the winter. But now i just think they went bad. yuck. Not drinking them after reading this post.

I've seen them this way in the cooler in gas station mini-marts.

Inspect before you buy, and if it doesn't look right, it isn't.

I also buy the Mocha Frappuccinos regularly from Sam's Club. 3 bottles so far, from 2 different cases, have been like this. It looks fine at first, but you can't get the chocolate in the bottom to shake into the rest very well -- it's like a small portion of it is just stuck to the bottom -- but it doesn't look bad. The seal is good -- you hear the pop when you open it -- and the milk looks fine, but the taste is sour.
My current case (2 bad ones) is also dated Apr 06, 2015.
