So resurrected this "ASAP" thread from 2014?

Maybe the same, bored clown who has been resurrecting zombie threads all over these boards?

What is the hourly fee for these consultants approximately? In the ballpark of $100, $500 or $1000 per hr?

I am looking for a college situation and was quoted a price of $375 an hour. I also called Educational Consultants and am to have a phone interview where they will discuss pricing. My impression is that they do packages rather than hourly fees. I will listen to what they have to say, but I am not convinced a package is right for out situation.

We love Clare Anderson and think she is great- we have no results yet but even if our DC does not get into the school or schools of choice, she has been very helpful
in explaining the subtle differences between the schools. We are not DC "insiders" not born and bred here, not "connected" or rich, and the help has been invaluable.
To the poster who said "If you need help you should not be applying" : Our DC has scores in the 99%. We still felt we needed guidance and advice and
were willing to pay for it- did I mention we are not rich? So what do you care if people want/need help to make sure a highly expensive life decision is the right fit?

Clare and Jean are both great. They can both offer unbiased input as to what schools may be the best fit. But neither can or will help you get into a school your child wouldn't otherwise gain admission into. If this is your hope, I suggest you save your money.
We like Pam Tedeschi. For us it was a benefit to have someone who knows the Independent Schools.
We used Pam too for admission into private high school a few years ago. We did get into our top choice, however we don't think it was because of her. I think, personally, it was a waste of money. We asked her for some input when writing essays, and her input was useless. We ended up seeking help of yet another consultant who offered much more skillful input when critiquing our essays...really like night and day. She might have the connections, but not sure that is really that valuable.
