This house in Cleveland Park was called "Best new home in DC"

Nice house. HATE the pendant lights in the kitchen. YUCK! And for that price you'd think they would have put a backsplash in for the second stove (where you need it the most) and have more glass shower doors rather than curtains (one curtain maybe but not more than that and definitely not in the "her's" MB)

Kitchen looks like it was designed by someone who does not cook. I guess if you have that much money you can hire someone to cook for you and navigate around that big triangle.

I couldn't afford this house, and I love some of older four-square and farm houses in CP.

But I don't like this house anyway. I don't think it will ever not look more like a drawing of a big house than a house that real people live in - particularly in the front/side.

It seems like a bit of an opportunity squandered to do something really nice with the lot.

And that is the problem. This house is not big enough to have staff. It is a good size house for a single family of 4 without help.

I take that back, I got this house confused with another, there is plenty of room for staff. My only complaint would be the basement level garage, a pain to climb up and down when unloading the car.

LOTS of stone out front. Maybe they need to have the landscaper come back to soften it up.

We need the scaled down $1-2M version for the "common man".

This! I like it a lot but not for 6.5 million dollars! FFS.

Too big for my tastes - I have a DH and 2 DCs, not 10 children, a few lovers and kitchen staff. I really do not get the need for a house that big unless you are the von Trapps.

I also don't like the new look and prefer old-fashioned and old-fashioned-looking houses.

No doubt it's a fine example of what it is, but it's very very much not my thing. For 6.5m, I'd better be getting a historic mansion (on the smaller side )

By definition a mansion is a house of 8000 SF or larger.

A mini-mansion then. Unless I marry into the Downton Abbey family...
