And that in and of itself is fucking amazing considering what a shithole it is.

I asked the server how many ounces it was, and she said she didnt know. She said the glasses are "wide" which is bs. There was nothing wide about the glasses to make it look like THAT much less wine than any other red wine glass.

I later said to her I would like an answer to my earlier question, just out of curiosity, and she came back with "Its five ounces". Im pretty sure it wasnt. It looked more like 4.
Now, I would rather pay a dollar or even two more and have a proper six ounce glass. Some restaurants give generous glasses that exceed 6 ounces.

The pizza, however, was fabulous.

Now, I feel like the attitude of "I dont know" and not caring about the wine enough to know is not quite the way to go for a new restaurant that wants to sell its brick oven 12/single serving pies. Which are very good, but still. If you are going to serve wine, know the wine, know how much you are serving. Is that too much to ask? And what gives with the five ounces?

That is unusual. The standard pour in a restaurant is about 5oz.

Savanah's is not in the Town of Kensington.

That article says nothing about Savanah's and per the Town of Kensington maps - Savanah's is located between dupont & farragut. Perhaps they are referring to the historic part of the town but either way...shit is shit. There is finally what looks like a decent restuarant there and OP has to complain about an ounce of wine. Prob the town drunk.

Unless you measured it then you really don't know how much you received anyway.

Being glad they are there is unfortunately kind of trumped when you are short changed. No, I did not talk to the owner while I was there. But I left feedback on their website.

I dont believe this was an accident. So Im not expecting any real results. It does not matter how hard the owner worked to get the store there. That is what it is to run a restaurant- you work hard. I have several friends who run restaurants- I know how hard they work. They also would never chintz on the wine. Its bad business. I work hard too and am also nice. Its not every day I go out to a restaurant of any kind.

Several restaurants have failed thinking they are so special to be in Kensington. Its not special if you dont deliver. I hope these people get it together, because their pizza is very good.

Not sure what this means. Pls elaborate? Is there a queue?

Also chintz is a fabric and has nothing to do with being cheap or stingy.

This is why I've never understood that expression.

Some words have multiple meanings.
I've have heard this expression ages ago, but not recently.
Also, urban dictionary is your friend.

I didn't write this post, but I think the post means that since Kensington has very few sitdown restaurants, restaurants have opened thinking that they don't actually have to be any good and they will still get great business in a captive market.

PP is correct, the linked article says nothing about Savannah's but instead references Old Town Market. Also, see the difference between licenses to sell alcohol on-site vs. takeaway.

You use urban dictionary to mock someone about a word's definition? Why don't you look up chucklehead. I could barely type this, I was laughing so hard.

I'm the one who was being mocked. Thanks, 14:41, for giving me back my grin.
