New Orleans without a doubt. As a PP said, it is a magical place. |

SF Chicago |
SF and Chicago toss up
(love DC as I grew up here, but it doesn't quite make the cut) NYC is objectively the "best" city but not my favorite. I am surprised at all the New Orleans responses. My family comes from there, and the weather is god-awful. There are some really awesome neighborhoods, but you walk out of them and you get shot in the face. No other cities for many miles. There are a lot of negatives about it that keep it from being a top-tier city, IMO. |
DC. There are other cities I'd enjoy living in (maybe even more than DC) but none of them has a metro system like DC's and metro has made our lives much more pleasant. I know not everyone has had that experience but we live close in right by a metro station and it makes a big difference. |
Washington, D.C.!
I really do love dc. Like many love affairs, it's not really rational. |
Chicago, but I also really love DC. |
New Orleans. For all its problems - and they are many - it is still the best place I have ever lived. |
