Yes, but the calendar is not done yet because the process was rushed. See how that all fits together?? |
My kids were in school for an entire month after their SOLs. |
You if you are going to stop teaching after the SOLs, why not just end the school year there??? Why bother with prolonging the school year? And why not keep teaching???? You don't have to grade the new material you are introducing, but at least present it so, come Fall, the students will have had some exposure to it. |
| I keep teaching new things until the last day of school. The SOLs do not cover all the things I need my students to know. |
You must be in the minority. |
+100. |
I don't think so. Just an APS teacher
|
I doubt it, there are a lot of committed teachers. I've never had a kid's teacher stop teaching till the last day... |
You're kidding, right? Anyone who reads the paper regularly over the years would have seen editorials, letters to the editor, and articles regarding the early-release Monday. It's been controversial since, well, its implementation! It's a shame you're not happy with the School Board's decision, but I applaud them for cutting through the crap that would have resulted from holding multiple public hearings about the issue, and simply making a decision that the majority of FxCo taxpayers support. |
3 months ago we booked a trip for the long weekend in January, based on the original calendar. Now they moved the Thursday off day to Monday, and since we return on Sunday now I have to have coverage for the kids for Monday and they miss more school. Oh well. |
Do you know what official means? Editorials, letters to the editor and articles are not official school board or FCPS actions. My post said "official." |
PLEASE... get over it.
|
| You are not an intelligent person. When disproven you resort to emoticons. |
Oh my goodness. You are pedantic and humorless. Here's an emoticon-less response for you: Get over yourself and move on. The half-day Monday is no more and you will somehow have to survive. How will you do it? |
| Still nonresponsive. Still unimpressive. Glad you dropped the pictures and looked up some big words, though. Does your brain hurt now? |
