Stay at our daycare (in lieu of PS-3). The plus side is that it would be logistically easier anyway!

We would do the same, but I would be shocked if we didn't get into our IB EOTP DCPS. (I can tell I've been on DCUM way too much this lottery season based on the last three words of that sentence.)

Haha! PP here, we are also likely to get into our IB EOTP DCPS but we aren't sure if we would take the spot.

We would definitely take the spot at ours, though I don't think I'd be so sure if they hadn't had a great open house.

Nothing. We're waiting to hear from a specialized high school whose applicant ranking was prepared weeks ago, and DC made no other applications. Not enjoying this lottery business when we don't need a complicated "match".

I would actually say the specialized "match" is even harder since it's based on academics instead of where you live and if you have multiple kids. You basically have to plan for a specialized match years and years in advance by having a good student.

March 31st isn't a good day for me. I have to transition to a new database at work and the results of the lottery. Coworkers stay away!

Uh, thanks for chiming in, I guess

I received an email from a rep at my School DC telling me that results will still be released according to schedule--Monday, not earlier. Oh well

Yes-- for Ellington it's years of preparation in advance, whatever the art is. But at least there's some notion of control by the student him or herself... if they apply themselves, prepare, etc., they can win a spot at an extraordinary high school and it's not just left up to the lottery gods.

Come on Monday. Hurry! Not for work though

Wouldn't they try and release results before 8:30am, so that older kids get their results before school starts? And HS question... Do they check at school?

I think there's a chance they might release the results at 8:30 or so, but I don't think they're going to do it much earlier than that.
