I am the person with the K & 3rd and my WL letter for 3rd came today, a day after the acceptance for K. |
| ... nothing today. Reject? |
| We got the rejection letter today for our DS. We are a DC family. |
| What percentage of kids at the school are from Maryland? |
Feeling very agitated about this -- even though I probably can't afford it anyway. Strange .
|
Unfortunately, yes. It seems to me they send out acceptances first, waitlists second, and rejections last. ...based on my experience. |
| Does anyone know anything about Potomac's sibling policy? Is there a stated preference or do we have to go through all of this nonsense again in a couple of years? |
This is cruel. |
but true.... |

Yes, you need to go through the application process for siblings. We are aware of quite a few siblings that have not be offered admission. |
It all stems for the way the Admission Office is run there. It apes the personality of the person in charge. |
Years ago I applied to JPDS for my DC and they sent out acceptance letters but didn't send out any letters to the students they rejected. Silence. I finally called and was told DS was rejected and that they assumed the rejected students would figure it out or call. I'm serious, this happened. It was really outrageous. |
I would have to disagree- we had heard the process was a bit disconnected there but found the opposite to be true. Met with and had nice conversations with Charlotte, and other parts of the team- we are not any sort of connected family. |
i think this year may be an anomaly; we were w/l a different year and the letter came the same day as others were posting about acceptances on dcum. if you look back though other threads from other years, there does not seem to be a different mailing schedule. |
Congratulations! Those are fantastic options. Where does your DD want to go? |
