| triple paste or coconut oil, water not wipes, and diaper free as much as possible. |
This. Aquaphor, the Boudreaux's Butt Paate. For a yeast rash, we've had success using lotrimin AF cream, based on our pediatrician's suggestion. Also, air it out as much as possible. |
| Frequent diaper changes. Let airdry first before applying diaper cream. If diaper cream is applied when the skin is wet, it will trap in the moisture, making it worse. Good luck! |

First of all, do not feel bad. Diaper rash happens to almost every baby.
A basic rash - triple paste with aquaphor over it. When it clears, apply aquaphor after every poop diaper change. If the rash is super resistant to clearing, mix some Maalox or Pepto with the triple paste and then apply. Trick I learned from my friend who is a NICU doctor. |
The baby is 9 now so probably over it. |

I swear by cotton dry wipes. They’re not tissues, they don’t have lint. You wipe with wet wipes and then pat dry with a cotton dry wipe before you apply the cream.
If it doesn’t get better quickly go to the pediatrician in case it’s fungal. |

Calmoseptine. Order it on Amazon. Saw it on this board when my first had a nasty rash as an infant and it’s the only thing that worked.
If it’s a yeasty rash, I also get nystatin from our pediatrician. That goes on first 2-3x daily, calmoseptine on top, fan baby’s bottom dry for a bit. Calmoswptine at every diaper change until rash is better. |
| Calmoseptine ointment. Best ever. |
+1 on the powder. Our night nurse brought it with her and it was a game changer for us. |
| Aquaphor only. Do not use anything with fragrance. |
J&J cornstarch powder- do they even use talc anymore? I’m not advocating for baby powder for diaper rash. For that, the best- Triple Cream. |
| When redness begins, I will (1) wash the baby’s bum with warm water after every bowl movement, then gently pat dry with a towel (no wipes); (2) apply triple antibiotic ointment, cortisone, and a small dab of lotrimin; (3) change diapers as frequently as possible. I’ve tried various creams and nothing has worked as well as this approach. |
