Alexandria Middle Schools (ACPS)

I don't understand how the split schools is what attracted the white middle class cohort, of which I am a part. I can honestly say that the split had no impact on my decision to send my children there. As a pp said, my only concern now is how they're going to implement the change and what impact it will have for the next school year.

Not sure about the white or the SES parts, but I can tell you that the split 2-GWs is a LOT less chaotic than a single GW ever was or will be.

And the idea that one grade-principal will track your DC? Well, what if you have two kids, in different grades? Under the new/old model, you have TWO different grade-principals. Under the split-system, you don't -- your DCs have only one front-office.

This remerger mess is all being done for the convenience of the school board.

How is the re-merger a "convenience of the school board"
