Am I the only one who doesn't like cul de sacs?

| Each person on the cul de sac has a different version of how it should be used. The older folks think it should be kept clean and empty. The stroller folks think it is a park. The teen ager parents think it is a parking lot. So it helps if everyone is the same age and stage. |

I live on one except I'm on the straight part of the road before it end in a a large circle. The only bad thing I have found is that the snow plough doesn't come thru.
We've had a block party. All the neighbors know each other. Have not seen any strange parking techniques. I have witness the neighborhood watch effect work in person when a strange weirdo came by one time. |

| We live in one and love it. It's a very wide circle and no one parks on it on a regular basis, only guests. We like that the traffic is only our neighbors and the UPS/Fed-ex and mail trucks. Kids play outside in it and we gather in our driveways when it's warm outside. It makes it feel like our own little place in the world. |

| I currently live at the end of a cul-de-sac and I also work from home. I am constantly yelling at people who don't even live in our neighborhood to shut up and stop hanging out right outside my house. They claim it's a public street, but don't I have any rights to keep them away? There are always toys, bikes, kids blocking the end of my driveway and one of these days I'm going to hit one of them. At certain times of the day, then sun is blinding and I can't see backing out of my driveway. I wish the Damm kids would just stay in their own yards, or let the parents take them to the massive rail trail to ride their bikes on. They don't need to ride around in a circle a thousand times, screaming like idiots while people are trying to work! |

1. Both culs-de-sac and cul-de-sacs are correct. It is my favorite plural for this reason. People like the op who “corrected” OP are insufferable. 2. I adore living on my cul-de-sac, but it’s spacious. Why not drive by at different times and see how it changes in the evening, on the weekend, etc.? |
