OP, our house is professionally cleaned every other week but it's cluttered. Hence, messy but clean. |
It sounds like you use a lot of hot water. Do you at least use low environmental impact cleaning products? |
Step one: get rid of all the papers, books, and CDs. And no, having crap tons of dusty books that nobody will ever read does not indicate that you are intellectually superior to other people. |

Dirty: dirt/stickiness on the floors, unvaccuumed carpets, crumbs on tables, dust on furniture surfaces. The physical presence of “dirt” (and other refuse).
Messy: clutter, disorganization, things out of place and out of order. Although I would say to be clean, a house need be neither dirty nor messy. |
