If you are a lawyer, do you put Esq. after your name?

Why don't you just say "attorney"?

Should I get new business cards without the title?

Yes.

Why? I work in an industry where there is a mix of MDs, PhDs, etc. and everyone with a graduate or professional degree signs with their degree.

I'm the PP who asked the original PhD question. You know what now that I think about it, I am a former blue collar professional who put themselves through 9 years of college (no help from Mommy and Daddy) to get that PhD in a scientific field. I'm not a douche and I earned those fucking letters, as I am not as naturally talented as most that I went to school with so had to work twice as hard. I don't think I am better than anyone else because of these 3 letters and I didn't refer to myself as Dr. or put PhD when I was mixing with a majority of folks credentialed like myself. However, in my new role I have to do media and other stakeholder outreach and they actually want to know that they are speaking to an expert, so screw it, the letters stay. If you don't like it and want to judge people for it then go right ahead you jealous motherfuckers

I'd say keep it, but I'm also in a scientific related field.
