I have watched both shows. I researched both shows and found out Thomas is a lot older. I also found out that the creators of chuggington are ex-employees of HIT entertainment, the company that produces The Thomas tv show. So, with that said, I can confirm that chuggington is a failed copy of Thomas. They are releasing all the same types of toys, which means they're copying Thomas even more. Thomas is far better, lessons and all. also chuggington looks as if it has very few colors and little detail. Also I have seen parts where a train will actually cut through part of itself, thus showing bad quality. Chuggington is also a mixed up group of trains, and not all one type, which does make them all unique, but this also is the same for locations as well. On the other hand Thomas is full of detail and concentrates on one region and one type of train (british) with very few "out of region" characters. Thomas also uses a larger Palette of colors with different shades, and has more detail to the world. Chuggington is very unrealistic as well, which can appeal to children, but not me. things like flying trains, robots telling trains what to do, double deck roundhouses, etc. Thomas has more realistic places, like stations, freight yards, farms, a single deck roundhouse, etc. overall I give Thomas a 10/10 and Chuggington a 2/10.
