SERIOUSLY- do not correct people's spelling while they are talking about health issues

The OP didn't know what her procedure was called. Or perhaps she forgot. Or perhaps she was screwed by autocorrect. I don't think this is a big deal.

I'm OP of the thread. I'm a solo single mom of a toddler. Not by choice. I am terrified that the father of my child may also have given me something that will kill me. I thought the corrections were offensive. It appeared everybody understood my question with my error... So yes, I think it was mean and unnecessary to have corrected me.

Huh? She said colonoscopy. That's not the procedure she is having done. Confused how correcting the procedure is offensive...but whatever. I guess some people are highly sensitive

Maybe you should thoroughly get yourself and your partner tested before having unprotected sex? It leads to the possibility of a child and/or infections if you don't use protection.

Condoms don't protect against HPV, PP. You don't even need to have sex to get it.

OP of other thread, 80% of women have HPV. Multiple OBs/Gyns have told me this. I can think of 5 friends off the top of my head that have it--and i'm sure most people keep it quiet. It is shocking at first, but try not to worry too much.

I was referring to the other "something that may kill her." However, condoms provide some protection against HPV, but the condom does not cover the entire area so you are still at risk from exposed area. I just wanted to note that people shouldn't not use condoms because you are still at risk. It helps lesson the risk.

Thanks. It's the cancer that worries me more. A lot more.

Im the OP of _this_ thread which I started when I saw how you were treated by some on your thread. Thank you for posting again.

I did this to draw attention to this nasty way of treating people, and the completely unnecessary condescending tone that some people take on and feel entitled to, especially in this anonymous forum. I suppose I could have ignored it, but on principle, I felt like it was time to say something about not just this example. Of course there are many others.

I try to remember that I already know [i]that people who are insecure about their general importance are exactly the ones who feel like they need to find opportunities to belittle others. Knowing this should make it not get to me as much. Well, it got to me this time.

OP- Dont let the meanness of the fools on this forum distract you from the fact that there are good hearted helpful people out there who do not make being judgemental their #1 priority!!!! And a lot of people chimed in to prove that!!!
