Racists Very Upset Over Interracial Family in Cute Cheerios Commercial

Anonymous
I am waiting for the one with the mentally handicap, wheelchair bond, chinese american, spanish speaking father with a peanut allergy and white mom.

I saw a commercial for Kindle paperwhite featuring a same sex couple.

It was nice to see that madison ave is learning that people who have long been over looked by advertisers also have money to spend.

this commercial is great, but i will be more impressed if they start showing other types of mixed couples too - i.e. black/asian, asian/latino, maybe even same gender parents. america is not quite fully awake yet.

-signed, person from a triple swirl family.

I just saw one with an Asian Dad and an AA Mom. DH and I commented on it (I'm white, he's AA), as the kid looked like they didn't manage to "match" him properly...
Can't recall what the commercial was for, since we were distracted by the family. Oh well.

IN general are we that dense that if you see that you'll buy the product?

So, I have to say, I think its really odd that this is "trying too hard" in some poster's eyes. What does that even mean? Wake up folks, this is fast becoming who and what America is and that is a GOOD thing. It is NOT trying to hard at all.

I equate it with commercials with 5 people at a party. 1 is white, 1 is black, 1 is Asian and 1 is Latino. Love the diversity, but it doesn't seem like a sincere thing to me, if that makes sense.

God, you are stupid. Its a commercial (marketing), its not about sincerity its about demographics. An ad exec does this becasue they want to make sure that anyone who watches will find someone to relate to. If pepsi made a commercial showing only whites at a party dont you think that it would an impact on sales.

It hasn't since....oh, I don't know..the beginning of time.

That should be "don't agree with" DOES NOT EQUAL "dislike/hate". Learn the nuances of human emotions.

What is there to agree or disagree with? It's not an opinion, it simply...is. People marry who they want, thankfully with no input needed from your tiny mind. In fact, nobody is asking for your (racist) opinion, which you can feel free to keep to yourself. It's not like we're asking for your views on tort reform.

And someday, Ms. Anti-interracial marriage will be an old, racist-remark spewing lady and all this generation of mixed kids will feel is pity -- they will know they are just as good as anyone of any race!

I'm the pp you are referencing. Nothing that I wrote is hateful and it's definitely not about anyone feeling "less than". I get that this is personal to you and your family, but you're projecting a bit.

Uhmmmm, actually it IS about having an opinion on a particular issue. This opinion is separate from any notion that the opinion should influence the decision of others. Get a grip.

If you think that racism is only about someone being or feeling "less than," than you are kidding no one but yourself. You are a racist. Whether or not you admit it to yourself, you are a racist.

You might want to take a marketing class.

Get a grip? Really?

So you have an opinion that people shouldn't get married. But that they shouldn't listen to your opinion. Oh, OK.

Didn't say that either. Not sure why you find it necessary to make things up (or tell me what I think/say), but have at it.

Uhmm, yes. Why is that so hard to believe? I actually think it's quite simple, in fact. Do you think that the actions of a person should be dictated by another's opinion? That's a dangerous viewpoint to have.

Perhaps you shouldn't even have an opinion on something that doesn't affect you, moron.
