I am in the exact same situation as you. I earn 120-200k depending on bonus and DH earns $500-800k per year. I am currently bored at my job but I have flexible hours and feel I spend plenty of quality time with the kids (ages 2 and 4). I tried being a SAHM though and it was not for me. I already work less (about 35 hrs per week) and plan to cut my hours further when my older child starts kindergarten next year.

If you want to stay at home, and your husband isn't going to give you shit about it, you stay at home. That simple.
I suspect many, if not most, men will support their wives' decisions, it's just the endless agonizing they oppose. Given your husband's income, if you/your hubby don't have the money/equity to buy a TH in Frederick with cash and make $50-$100k as an office drone in Rockville (substitute appropriate locations) to pay the other bills, then shame on you. |
