| I'm from the south, blah, blah, blah. |
|
Nucular instead of Nuclear.
Even worse when it is (the now former) President saying it. Yikes. |
You're kidding, right? Just checking. |
he said Nukila..yuck! |
| between you and I |
Say there, original pp, do you mean they said "cashay" when they meant "cache"? You do know that there's a word "cachet" that is pronounced "cashay," right? |
| INsurance |
| Baby bump. Pacific instead of specific. When people say "like" all the time. Double negatives. |
|
Less when fewer is appropriate.
All the business and consulting terms. Deliverable, out of pocket, task as a verb, etc. |
How should it be pronounced? |
Not the PP but I agree. It's in-SUR-ance. |
|
Concerning in the wrong context. You can call your mom and say "Hi Mom, I am calling concerning your broken leg." That is proper usage. While you may be concerned about her led, you do not then say "My mom has a broken leg and it is rather concerning." That second usage is wrong.
Mute when you mean Moot. The lawyers out there will know what I mean. "What you got?" or "how many eggs you got?"' I don't know what that is-regional, class, education--whatever but it is so wrong and I take my kids to a little kids gym and all the nannies talk to their charges that way! |
Yep, saying cashay when they mean cache. Probably think it is the same word and has the same meaning. |
|
Exspecially
What not |
| "Myself" instead of "me" or "I." As in, "she gave it to myself" or "Bob and myself went to the park today." It should be used only for reflexive verbs, as in "I spend all day muttering to myself about prescriptive grammar." |
