Um, those railings dont scream character. They scream safety hazard and outdated.

Agreed. The interior ones are the equivalent of "builder grade" from the era.

The exterior railings can be salvaged, however, with some black paint. Eventually you can do something better... but I think replacing the exterior railings at this time is probably the lowest priority.

Enjoy the home... it looks lovely and VERY promising!
