We switched from private to public in the Whitman cluster and been very pleased. We aren't in 2.0 range so I can't comment on that development. Plenty of challenge, strong peer group, excellent teachers, and much more personal attention than we expected given the class sizes.

OP if it's not a good fit for you then you should reapply to private school. Maybe your DC just needs more help than the public school is able to provide. I know for one of my kids the public schools would not have been a good fit.

Just some support for the OP. We moved to Montgomery County for the schools. Thankfully, we chose to rent before buying. We were incredibly disappointed in both the elementary and high school. These so called "great" schools were a joke. We managed to finish out the year, then moved to Fairfax County and bought a house. We've been thrilled with everything about the schools in Fairfax!

Montgomery Country is imploding on itself. It wasn't just the schools. We pretty much hated everything about it.

I live in Rockville and sadly agree with you on this.
