ugh - michelle rhee on daily show tonight

Rhee got rid of so many bad teachers and horrible central office staff. If you don't "like" her, then don't go to happy hour with her. But those us who saw the terrible teachers in classrooms and witnessed the many children who had lost school years are thankful she did that.

And, let's keep in mind, there were NOT hundreds of candidates for DCPS school chancellor. Super talented, experienced urban school administrators were not beating down the door to run DCPS. We have such short memories - pre Rhee DCPS could not even start the school year on time or get textbooks to classrooms before January if at all.

And to throw this out there - I think disbanding the WTU would go a long way in improving schools in DC.
