What school did you end up choosing?

I haven't heard of children learning tics. Tics are neurological and very difficult to control. McLean is known as a place that does not accomodate significant behavioral issues. Children at any school from time to time might show inappropriate behaviors every now and then. I did not see anything concerning at McLean? What behaviors specifically concerned you?

My impression of McLean is positive. It sounds like you did not have a good experience there. Hope you found a school that was better suited for your child's needs.

You need to look at closer. Mclean has serious problems going on. 21 teachers left after last year. Student enrollment is way down. The head announced last year she was leaving but not till the end of this year. Other schools, such as Bullis have recognized and addressed the need to accomdate students with learning issues which is why the have a new learning center meant to help students with academic needs.

Until a new head is picked and the direction of the school is more apparent, other schools might be a better pick.
