beckham will be a legend of his sport for years to come. just like gretzky. i don't, however, think that it's the greatest first name ever. that being said, i hate pretty much all kids' names anymore. so if you live in an area where the trend for kids' leans towards the unique, then do it. naming him david will actually make him stand out more. it's certainly better than bella and edward.

one veto apiece should be the standard. heck, i even got a veto on my best friend's baby. saved her from calling the child "truly"

I totally agree. Even if your DH say's he doesn't have David in mind, no one else will think so. I think everyone who's posted first thought of David when hearing the name Beckham. Why not the name Barak?

i like it but only because david beckham is hot. that's the one kreative name i could probably go for.

If it's a last name from your family tree, I can understand but someone else's not so much other than it's trendy.
