Do you think LeAnn Rimes is too skinny?

Oh, you must be young. In 1990 SJP was in a movie I saw in the theater called "LA Story" with Steve Martin. She had a GREAT body but was very athletic and not skinny. Much, more meat on her bones. Looked great. She is definitely not naturally that skinny. She naturally has a more athletic build.

Leann was around a certain weight for all of her adult life, but once she publicly got with her now-husband, she started losing a ton of weight and it just doesn't look right. She looked scary for a while, and although she does look better since she gained weight, I think her body is a lot less "healthy" fit than it was a few years ago before she started trying to copy the ex-wife's body. Leann chalked up her weight loss to "losing baby weight," but who loses baby weight in their late twenties?

I don't know, maybe if she hadn't lost so much weight in the beginning and there wasn't the weird element of copying her husband's ex's look I wouldn't find her current weight so strange.

when she FIRST lost the weight, she looked good. There was a magazine cover (people, maybe?) where she posed in a bikini and actually looked healthy. Then she kept losing and started looking creepy.

follow-up - it was Shape. Just found it on google images.

The Shape magazine article where she talked about how strong she was for having "endured" her affair where she cheated on her husband and her lover cheated on his wife. People were pissed about that article.

I didn't talk about the article. I still think they both suck as people. I was commenting on her body in the picture. And there was a cover a few years earlier where she looked healthy as well.

I think she looks best somewhere in between. But I would never consider her an ideal. She is so straight! No hips at all.

And I didn't imply that you did. I remember that she looked good on the cover, but what I remember more is the shitstorm that ensued from angry readers.

In the pic the PP posted, I agree with the PP that if she had just lost some pounds off the left weight and toned up, she would have looked good and natural.

OP, is your body type similar to Leann's and that's why she's a fitness inspiration for you?

Fergie, Chloe, and Selma looked much better in those photos. My mom is super duper skinny but not toned (genes, smoking) and my husband has repeatedly told me NOT to get as skinny as my mom (I'm not trying too but I have her build, I just eat better and don't smoke. But sometimes I forget to eat or get too busy and it pisses him off.)

Oh boy that second pic on the right is just gross.

I don't know how to PIP, but I just found a picture from some website where they had the picture from the left next to a picture from 3 months later. She dropped to that weight on the right in 3 months. That's just sad and disgusting.

I really hope there are no high school girls on this thread bc the damage that picking apart these celebrity bodies can do to me, much less a young girl with body image issues, is quite disturbing.

OP here. No, not really. I'm shorter, and don't have the straight hips. I have a small frame, like Susan Lucci (but I am carrying 20 extra pounds, and also need to tone up since giving birth second time around).

I wouldn't say that Leann Rimes is a strong fitness inspiration for me; I had just seen a photo or two of her in a check-out line magazine where I thought she looked really muscular and toned, and the images stuck with me as the kind of body (stomach in particular) that I would like to have. I had not, however, seen some of the images of her when she was alarmingly skinny that people have posted (e.g., above).

It has been interesting to read everyone's comments. I had no knowledge of all of that business about her divorce, and then remarrying that guy, trying to be like his ex-wife, etc. I Googled it after reading some posts here. It does sound like she is (or was) a little unstable.

I don't know what is wrong with saying someone looks sickly thin and NOT something to aspire to.

I honestly think LeAnn looks better in the striped bikini picture than most people do in a bikini. She looks NORMAL like that. THAT is what most people should aspire to, honestly. It's OK to be normal looking and not hard as a rock or skeleton thin.

I really don't see any egregious body snarking in this thread. Any negative comments about LeAnn's body are because she lost the weight in an unhealthy way and she lost too much. A PP posted that she dropped a lot of weight in just three months. It would be a good thing for a high school girl to see that health is more important than skinniness and that most posters don't condone going to extremes to lose weight.

I can see that leann rimes is skinnier in some of the photos and links - i don't aspire to that - i do, however, like how she looks in the photo that i posted earlier.

On a sidenote, someone mentioned clooney's girlfriend in that link, and how good she looked--if we are talking about leann being too thin, doesn't anyone find her to be exceptionally thin, too? Her thighs are very skinny especially.

First of all Clooney's GF is WAY younger than Rimes and she has no children. The GF looks normal for someone who is in that career and childless. You cannot see her breat bones protruding. She looks effortless. Rimes has bones sticking out.

Yes, Clooney's GF is thin, but thin and healthy, big difference.
