I'm scared that not only did you take the time to concoct this and type it, but also that your song choices are universally awful. I'll take exception to #39, 30, 20, and 8. But that's just my opinion. Rock on with your bad self!

I agree this is a terrible list of songs. But "I'll take exception" does not mean what you think it means.

Okay, how about "except for..." ? Does that work for you? I take exception to your persnickety demeanor.

Op here. I'm glad this thread has got legs. I just got so tore of the negativity and animosity and wanted to give you all something fun to quibble about.

That being said, I'm surprised that no one has mentioned anything done by Laura Branigan. Shattered glass? Gloria?

I still hear this played on the radio! This song came out in the early 80s. I remember this because I was about 8 and didn't know what the word tainted meant.

That song is from 1992. I know this b/c I put it on a mixed tape that I listened to constantly during college. I remember when the album came out.

I love how he found his penis on a blanket next to a broken toaster oven.

Cheap Trick will be on the Mall today to perform for Earth Day.

My older son and I went down to see them. We got there during sound check and there were less than 30 people there. So, we got right up front. I grew up in Rockford (where Cheap Trick is from) and saw them when I was in high school, but not since I left Rockford in 1984. So for me, this was reliving high school. For my son, it was a new experience. He came home with a collection of Rick Nielsen's guitar picks which is big thrill since he is a budding guitar player.

While Cheap Trick was a great 80s band, the ultimate 80s band for me will always be the Sex Pistols. I know that Sid died in 79 and the Pistols are really a 70s band. But, as noted, I was in Rockford, we were a decade behind.
