A baggage screener at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport has been arrested after being accused of stealing $5,000 in cash from a traveler's jacket, according to the Port Authority Police Department. When investigators checked surveillance camera videos, they saw a female Transportation Security Administration screener remove the currency, wrap it in a latex glove, and depart for the bathroom, Della Fave said. He said when investigators found the woman, she did not have the money on her. "We assume she may have passed it off to an accomplice, so the investigation is continuing," he said. |

I didn't read all of the comments however, it is pretty well known that baggage employees (not all) steal stuff from luggage. There was a big expose feature on it a few years ago and they had images of workers leaving the airport with garbage bags of stuff. I had a nice camera stolen about 20 years ago and since then have never checked valuables in my luggage. I either leave it at home or carry it on. My check in luggage only has clothes and toiletries.
sorry that you had to learn this lesson the hard way. |
Sorry, PP. I will refer to National as National until the day I die. Ditto Houston Intercontinental. |
Well, there you go again! |
