Is it rude to send emails late at night?

Anonymous
It's not rude. But I might question you and/or your motives if you send me something at 3am on a weekday morning. I had a moron boss who would do this to prove he worked until the wee hours of the morning. Yeah, I'm impressed... by your lack of judgment and inability to plan ahead.

Like prior PP, my cell phone is on and always right by my bed every night as well.

May I ask why you feel the need to leave your cellphone on all night? Do you not have a landline?

She probably doesn't. Not many people have land lines anymore.

And you're 25 years old, right?!

NP here - I'm 37 and haven't had a landline in 8 years.

I don't think it's rude to email late at night. Isn't that the point of email?? You can respond at your convenience! I would never call late at night, but I can email after the kids are in bed.

I'm like the PPs though who never keep their cell phone in their bedroom.

Absolutely not rude. I do this - so it must be OK!

FWIW - it's not to impress you that I am up working at 1am, it's because I need to catch up on work.

Not rude at all.

As for landlines, I'm 42 and haven't had a landline in 7 years.

I do, however, have an alarm clock because I don't think setting it is rocket science.

Why would it be? I turn off my computer and cell phone at night.

Remember reading a post on STFU Parents about a mom who posted on her FB to tell people not to post on her FB in the night hours because it would wake her up...dumbass.
