What do you think of this house/price/area (North Potomac)?

You know, not everyone in the D.C. metro area wants to be super close to D.C. Some people do like having more space but being relatively close to a major city. Different strokes....

Yes that cool, more land more space etc... but the further out you are outside of the beltway the lower the price, I estimate that house should be about 6-700k

this home is bigger and newer sold for 850K so yes it's over priced http://www.redfin.com/MD/North-Potomac/14509-Quince-Orchard-Rd-20878/home/10630096

This house only has .5 acres. The other house has 2 acres. So yes, it's worth more because it has more land. May still be a bit overpriced, but it should be more than the one you pointed out.

They call two of the rooms in the basement bedrooms because legally, they could be bedrooms and are used as such. Most people would use the spaces as a gym/storage/playroom area. Actually, I think that all of the rooms had people living in them. Like, they had a big family and needed the bedrooms for them. So, is it still ostentatious when it's being used practically instead of for show? It is actually quite a cozy house on the inside and not flashy at all...but I hope you feel better having used your big word for the day.

only if they're so many feet above ground

Below-ground rooms (as in no light) cannot be labeled as bedrooms.

You can call a room in a below ground basement a bedroom ONLY if it has a window that you can climb out to the outside. Something to do with firecode

Both of the rooms in the basement of this house can be considered legal bedrooms. Both have a closet and both have legal exits out of the room. One a door with stairs going up. The other I believe is a window.

It is a normal price if it is one of foreclosed homes. As I know such real estate typically between 10% to 50% (or more) below market value.
