But s/he must be of equal caliber if s/he was good enough to get a job at the firm.

mu husband and i met in college and always planned on one day having a home office and putting our combined degrees in there...

That's surprising because a doctor's office (or lawyer's office) is the one place other people want to see them. My BA, MA and Phd hang above my desk in my home office. The PhD is tiny in comparison to the BA so they look a little odd.

They are still in the envelope they were mailed. Not sure where the envelopes are.

in my office. Why in the world would you hang them up at home?

Every pediatrician we have ever been to has diplomas hanging in every exam room. EVERY ROOM has at least three diplomas.

I don't have an office.

Yes, most everyone agrees that medical docs can/should/do hang their diplomas. What no one can figure out is why anyone else would.

Exactly this. Heck, I don't think we even own copies of the books my husband has written. His parents sure do, though. They're on a shelf right next to the portrait of grandpa and the urn of grandma's ashes.

Raised on welfare in the projects. Only child out of 4 to graudate college. My Dad (parents are divorced) went back and got his degree and is now in grad school.

I didn't even go to my graduation. The degree was a means to an end. Was not interested in all the celebratory stuff. If/when I decide on grad school, I may do more to celebrate.

Because I'm proud of my degrees?

PP who misplaced BS/MS here. I was the first in my line of descendants to attend university, and paid for my graduate education myself. My parents immigrated here with negative in their bank accounts because they borrowed $$ to fly out. I am very proud of my degrees, but where am I supposed to display them when I don't have an office as I work from home from my dining room table?

Mine are in my office--BA and MS. Honestly, its something to decorate the walls with and my mother was adamant about getting them framed for me so why not. But I work in a law firm so its pretty standard that diplomas are on the wall and no one thinks much about it.
