Questions about Obama's speech and position?

If you r/c a pay check/w2 you pay off the tax tables. If you don't r/c a pay check, but make your money through capital gains you pay 15%(no matter how much money you make) no one is talking about raising the capital gains tax. So, try to covert you income to capital gains and you avoid taxes. This is what "the rich" do. This whole discussion of who is rich and what tax table you pay is a joke! You will not get anymore money from "the rich" b/c they do not pay taxes based on income, but from capital gains. So Obama's position is we will tax the wage earns b/c we can. Obama has been very disappointing.

The answer is to make the cap gain tax rate the same as the earned income tax rate-- which it was for a while until they screwed it up.

That's a trillion dollars over 10 years we could have saved just by passing a clean debt limit.

Yep, but at least they'll have shown the Kenyan socialist who's boss.

I'd call them a bunch of puling infants, but that's an insult to infants everywhere..

Just to be clear what Obama's position is; he's basically a moderate Republican--that includes on the ACA, which essentially came out of the Heritage Foundation in the 90s, and his complete abdication on appointments (both judicial and executive branch).

16:28 true that! The white house think they do not have to worry about the democratic base. They are heading into Jimmy Carter land. You have to keep your base happy.

Is this the thread where I say that I don't want a raise because then I'll be in a higher tax bracket?

Eliminate interest/dividend/cap gain taxes on dividend/cap gains under $10,000 and under $500 from a single source. Broker houses save money sending out 800,000 1099-MISC saying you got $256.32 in dividends and $5.68 in interest. Individuals save money filling out K-1, B, C, D, etc., schedules. If some farkwad wants to open up 500 accounts getting $499.99 in interest from each one, worry about that later.

Change those taxes to regular income above $250,000. Hedge fund managers moan, but who the fark cares? It's not like our feudal overlords are hiring us anyway.

9:24, I meant to say no need for a place to send a 1099 out unless it's over $500.
