Midwifery at GWU

I met with Marsha and liked her as well. She still seemed a little flustered/overwhelmed by the system (computer programs, etc) but I guess that is to be expected. I just hope she gets it all down by the time I deliver!

Both Whitney and Laura seemed flustered by it when they started last fall - I think the system isn't that intuitive. I wouldnt worry.

to current patients, how long in general do you wait at appts? I had my first the other day and while I loved the midwife, I waited a long, long time.

I think the wait really depends on the time of day. I generally try to make my appointments first thing in the morning, and usually don't wait more than 10 minutes in the waiting room, then maybe another 10 minutes in the exam room. But a couple of times when my appointment was in the late afternoon, I waited almost an hour in the waiting room.

My appointments have all been around 1:30, and I usually don't end up waiting more than 10 minutes in the waiting room, and then another 5-10 minutes in the exam room. My last appointment took a little longer, because it was with Whitney, and she'd been called away to a birth earlier in the day and Laura came in to cover her not long before my appt time, so things were a little hectic. But that's the nature of the unpredictability of childbirth!

10:56 here. thanks for the feedback. I waited a bit over an hour, which seemed long if it was a regular thing.

Wow, that's a really long time. I've rarely waited more than 15 minutes. Maybe you just got a bad day? Most days I'm seen on time or within five minutes of my appointment.
