| I was told both schools will be modernized or rennovated. Within next 5 years |
| So far Murch is scheduled for renovation in 2014, I think |

Upper NW schools are the best of the worse. Seriously, we moved both our Lafayette kids to private.
At Lafayette, both were literally at the top of their class according to ANet and DC CAS test scores. After they entered private, surprise, our kids were at the very bottom of their classes academically. The difference was noticible to our kids and their new classmates. My kids were embarrasses to be so far behind. Huge wake up call for all of us. Living in upper NW does not shield us from the reality of the broken DCPS system. |
This thread was dead for a year and then someone with a negative agenda against the Lafayette principal resurrects it as a vehicle for discussion. Nice. |

Sad but not surprised to hear this. What grade was this and what were they behind in?
Look at the national HS rankings. DCPS and charters are not doing their job (don't start posting the special exceptions here). Wakeup call!

These national rankings always make me laugh. You do know that kids who go to the schools in the mid-100s do just fine? |
They are adding trailers this summer. Next summer they are putting wall up and renovating the classes. The summer after that they are renovating the common space and doing any add-ons. The lack of full walls won't be a problem for much longer. |
| Lafayette will be renovated and will no longer have "open classrooms". Speak to the school or HSA for more specifics. |
| Please post any details you may learn of here. Many of us thinking of the school would like to be "in the loop". Thanks! |
