Update -

The colonoscopy revealed NOTHING! Back to square one.

I know this is frustrating for your friend, but the colonoscopy didn't reveal nothing b/c presumably certain conditions like crohn's and UC can now be eliminated. Good luck to her on the continued hunt.

It revealed no cancer! One very scary option is off the table. That's great news. Hopefully, her doctors can start narrowing down the possibilities.

And, thanks a bunch for updating us. I was thinking about your friend this weekend.

THYROID ISSUES

If she is hypoglycemic then the NSAID she is taking for cramps could make that worse, causing the sudden fainting. (I get this, which is why I asked if she took aspirin. I think all NSAIDs do it.)

This obviously isn't her biggest issue - but since you said she has bad migraines. . .the dizziness is migraine. It's called migrained associated vertigo and it's much more common as women age who have had migraines for a while. I'd go see Dr Buccholz at Hopkins - he's the authority - and there are meds that would make it clear right up. Again, obviously not the most pressing problem, but I feel bad when I see someone with migraines going through unexplained dizziness when it turns out it is a form of migraine.

Her doctor should really rule out Celiac disease based on her symptoms. It is a simple blood test and is a lot less expensive than some of those invasive tests. Anemia which can cause dizziness, migranes, and diarhea are classic symptoms. Some people lose weight, some people gain weight.
