The above link goes to the October Heart newletter (I hope) which has some reasonable approaches (in my opinion) to prepping for the DC-CAS. Message From Principal on first page |

Just wanted to chime in the my caucasian OOB PK son is doing amazing at Hearst in just the first few weeks of school. He was getting bored at his Montessori school and the move to a larger more stimulating and more FUN school has done wonders. So far this year his class has done weekly trips to the Fillmore art center, the botanical gardens to learn about metamorphosis of caterpillars to butterflies, Kennedy center for a Rip Van Winkler puppet show followed by the puppet master visit to school the next day to demo how puppets work, and a field trip to Cox Farms among many many other school and class learning ops. Meteorologist is now one of his favorite words.
If you spent a little time at the school you will discover that the community is very dedicated and we feel there is something special going on at Hearst. That being said, let's keep this as our little secret so only families who really want to be there come.shhhhhhh. |
| As an OOB parent who is at Cooke, all I can say is, sometimes OOB parents add diversity another way. I'm just sayin' |
