Financial Aid Question

Go ahead and apply; as others have said, there is plenty of opportunity to explain the specifics of your situation. There’s no guarantee, however.

Did you also have no mortgage payments like this family?

To me, $200k with no mortgage seems more than enough to pay for private school tuition.

The house needs work though.

I thought we wanted peasants at private schools for diversity sakes. There’s a whole thread chiding private school parents and schools for not giving aid money to broaden access to the poor.

People want a handout. The truth is these schools are already too generous. They are running businesses and need to collect payment for their services.

People who own mansions complain that they don't qualify for financial aid.

This reminds me when they just asked Trump if he still needs 200 Billion as the war is finished he said. Sure, I'll take 200 Billion. With rich people enough is never enough if they are not smashing helpless people into the dirt also. Greed is a shameful and destructive addiction.

The issue is that $200k HHI with no mortgage isn't a peasant even by DCUM standards.
