Packing for 9 days in just a carry-on/personal item?

I only wear black and dresses. Two cotton or silk sleeveless dresses with one matching duster/jacket or sweater. Cashmere wrap. Cotton wrap.. Silk or nylon panties and slips, 3 each, one on, one in wash, one just in case. They dry overnight, especially if wrung in towel. Three sets black knee high socks/stockings. ( dresses are midi length.) Two pairs shoes. Both easy to walk in, but one appropriate for restaurant or party.

I'm washing under things and hanging them to dry. Usually only spot clean a dress in case of spill.

Wearing dress, jacket, cashmere wrap on plane. Packing under things, extra dress, shoes, cotton wrap, minimal toiletries and makeup. Kindle. Raincoat that folds up into almost nothing.

Small cross body bag with phone, documents and glasses.

In my 20s, I did a version of this with blue jeans. I packed a dress in case needed for dress up or if the jeans had to be washed.

Depending on destination, may add swimsuit or winter coat. Silk legging/ tee shirts, etc. I use the wraps at night instead of a robe.

You're wearing a midi sleeveless dress with a "duster" and black knee socks? What shoes? Do you have a picture of this look?

My travel uniform comes from a dress maker. She has access to interesting black fabrics. No photos available. Also I'm short and old, so you'll want to adapt the look.

Eileen Fisher does a similar uniform: long, sleeveless knit dress with a variety of coats, jackets, sweaters to coordinate as overpieces. They even have coordinating shoes. Other lines do this as well. It's available at various price points.

If I have an outfit that works for me, that I love, I'm happy to wear it everyday, dark color doesn't show spills, etc so much. Natural fabrics usually spot clean pretty easy.

I don't like tights, and they are more to wash when traveling. HUE black knee highs look like tights since my dresses are long.

Hope that helps.

I don't mind the same clothes but it's the smell that they've been worn. I will not wear anything twice. Not happening. I wash a lot out in the sink. It has to be washed after one wearing. Maybe I can get-away with as little as 3 pairs of pants/tops. The material has to be right though, quick dry.

A few points-Febreeze is gross. Don't do that OP. The tip about the silk PJ shorts is great.

My entire family cam pack for 2 weeks in a carryon and personal item - it's not hard. Plan around one color- black, navy or a shade of khaki/brown that works for you. Layer - cardigans over, t-shirts under, add scarves. 2 pair of shoes only, one for walking, one to dress things up a little bit (not high heels unless a block/chunky heal). PJs? T shirt and bike shorts. And you need to get over the not wearing things twice

Why not just check a bag?

This.

I travel with carryon only as well. I make sure I shower each night before bed and my sleepwear is only used for sleeping.

The only hiccup I come across is making sure I have enough underwear. My solution is the exofficio underwear I can sometimes wear more than one day or I can wash in sink.
Always thin panty liners help refresh underwear if you have to wear them a second time or extend during a trip.

I always travel carry on only. If I need something (rare) I never have trouble purchasing during travel. Purchases can be easily shipped back as well. It's worth it to waltz off the plane and go straight to a car.
