Insurance gets billed, yes. But unless you have medicaid or were admitted as a patient (not just treated in the ER) insurance will not pay for the ambulance-it doesn’t matter if it was called through 911 or not. You will see it on your exclamation of benefits. Of course, every policy is different and probably some will cover it but by and large that’s the general rule. |
Correct. |
They do this specifically so people aren’t calling ambulances for minor injuries-which isn’t what an ambulance is for. |
Yes but that’s on them. Maybe some of them would have a “gee this s my last shot” realization. But once a kid is 16 or older, you can lead them to water but you can’t make them drink. If they are in the school but not learning and just disrupting other kids, what’s the point? When I was a teen, those kids just dropped out because Hs was only mandatory until age 16. |
This is true, but if the kids are repeat offenders, they clearly need a different environment, not a regular public school. |
| The news story referenced a video that the administrators are urging students not to circulate, must be pretty awful from a PR perspective. |
I have a hdp. I'd still have to pay $$$ for the ambulance. |
|
You people are spouting misinformation about ambulance services.
In Montgomery County, residents do not pay EMT ambulance fees. Period. This became law in 2013. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/emts/faq.html |
What news story? |
Thank you I’m the PP saying this above. |
+1 Or parents will continue to flee to privates and virtual school and public school will become the penitentiary |
Correct. |
MCPS took away the virtual school so if you are doing virtual its all private except MC. |
We pay through our property taxes and our insurance being billed and we pay for our insurance. However, we should not get any extra bills to pay directly. |
The previous poster said BILLED FOR AN AMBULANCE RIDE, not pennies of my property tax pay for ambulance rides. Jesus Christ, you people are ridiculous. |
