My kid was no where near our current clubs radar and made 1st team in open tryouts.

People are afraid of competition so they discourage you. Follow the process and you will end up where your child is meant to be at the time.

If they have a 1st team mentality and work ethic, they will get there.

Haha ok...competition is what makes your own player great. I want my kid going up against the best in practice. I'm not trying to dissuade anyone...just saying the top teams are already done. ID sessions are for those new to this whole thing. You as a parent should wake up and understand how this works for the benefit of the kid. You are hurting your kid's chances because you are too lazy to do your homework.

Has anyone who was at the FVU boys sessions from Wed received an offer yet? And can anyone explain if you need an invite to the future sessions?

I am pretty sure I can judge you on options trading and trash your lack of knowledge. It does not make you cool that you know "the way" in youth soccer. I was very ignorant to the process last year but aware of the inner workings here in the DMV now. It did not make me lazy, I was ignorant as youth soccer was not really high on my importance meter.

For uninitiated parents, my child started getting invites to other teams practices in November since this was our first rodeo. If you are gunning for a particular team, start that work now. It is late in the game but find your way into practices. In this area, it is no different than getting into a desirable school.

If you focus on the fundamentals day in and day out and your kid can ball, you don't have to do s----. Attend all of the tryouts, ID sessions, etc. and sit back and wait. The offers will never disappear if your kid can ball.
