Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love?

Yes, I am out here.

However, it can be hard to onboard people into Harry Potter fanfic if they are not familiar with the source material.

Hi friend, guess what! The fanfiction has been remade into a non-fanfic.

The Irresistible Urge to Fall for Your Enemy: A novel by Brigitte Knightley

I haven't read this version but it will spare you from needing any Harry Potter background.

PP.

For anyone who does have the Harry Potter background, here is a gateway fanfic that's short. The premise here is that Hermione broke up with Ron Weasley after the war. This one is funny.

Here's another one that's kind of amazing. Not canon either. And inspired by Junot Diaz! You have to download it from this site. It got deleted off the main place it existed within the last year. This one is angsty.

There’s an old book on my shelf called “Gloria” by Keith Maillard. I read it years ago. Old wealthy 1950s families.

Other stylish witty book:

Secret History by Donna Tartt
Never Let Me Go by Kuzuo Ishiguro
Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier

These are all “atmospheric” and paint a certain bygone era with pleasure.
