The attacker followed multiple right-wing accounts on X, like Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro. On Facebook, his profile picture was Trump multiple times and he regularly criticized Democratic politicians.

All of this seems to indicate the attack was fueled by his political sentiments.

The vast majority of people in this country on both sides of the aisle oppose political violence. There are extremists who do these things but they are not mainstream in any sense. They are crazy. Stop trying to paint an entire party as endorsing this.

Sorry, PP. One party condemns all political violence and the other automatically blames the victim on the other side. The extremists may be the bad actors but the mainstream Republicans neither condemn nor oppose political violence against Democrats.

Also, the VAST majority of political violence comes from the right.

So yes, I blame the Republican party. I'll reconsider my position when everyone in the Trump administration and all elected Republicans express their condolences for Melissa Hortman, just like every single elected Democrat did when Charlie Kirk was killed. I'll reconsider when every single one says, "I am appalled by what happened to Ilhan Omar. This kind of action will not be tolerated"

You understand, there is someone in jail right now who was responsible for the attack, right? And that person has a long social media history supporting Trump and Trumpism. Are you suggesting that the alleged has created this online persona for years, so they could be arrested for a "fake" attack to make MAGA look bad? And will be willing to spend time/years in jail for the optics of "owning" MAGA? This is what you are suggesting.
