Wouldn't daytime flights to Europe make more sense?

Yep we are flying into London from
JFK this summer just for the morning flight and then taking the train into Paris the next day. Flew into London a couple of summers ago and soooo much prefer the morning flight.

I love the morning flight from JFK to London for a long weekend. I've flown the night before to NY, stayed in a hotel airport, taken the early flight, and then essentially stayed on DC time the entire weekend. Stayed out late, slept until noon, flew back three says later with no jet lag. It was the best!

I am amazed that so many people who wouldn’t be caught dead taking a red eye from California to NYC take the overnight flights from NYC to London. And then they talk nonsense about not wanting to waste a precious day flying. Which is exactly what happens if they don’t take a red eye from California.

For me it's about the sleep, not the waste of a day. I can't sleep on planes. The red eye from California is the same as the overnight to Europe. I get no sleep on the flight and then have to survive a full day at my destination as a zombie. When I take the daytime flight to London I arrive there, have a late dinner and drinks, go to sleep, and wake up the next day refreshed. I don't care about wasting a day of travel.

PP just above here. We’re in violent agreement. I was just pointing out the inconsistency of people avoiding red eyes from Cali but selecting them from NYC to London (Every flight except the morning flights amounts to a red eye.)

Yes agree, good point.
